Tipputs walk - Wednesday 24 July 2019 Previous Next All Another hot day. Dave in charge We head across the busy A46. Mike going to become a chicken farmer Looking back as we leave Tipputs Inn behind We follow a narrow footpath Down into a valley A short climb Then a familiar path takes us on downhill Where trees give brief respite from the sun Bringing up the rear Battling our way through undergrowth A pond on our right To a familiar cottage Hares fighting in their garden Back uphill With views down the valley towards Avening Stopping again in the shade of trees Views across to Minchinhampton WW1 Blue Plaque Walk Peaceful campsite One of the blue plaques Definitely a right of way Now heading round the side of the valley Through Barton End And across a healthy-looking field of wheat Before this track takes us back to the Tipputs Inn Where the sign outside provides some amusement directing us round the back for the front door But we find our way and soon settle down to lunch Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally
