Tuesday 25 April 2017 - Cliff path west to Ladram Bay and Otterton longer walk Previous Next Another nautical garden as we make our way out of Sidmouth to the west House name - "Country in the town" in Latin Past a recently refurbished thatch cottage Now climbing uphill Onto the heathland at Muttersmoor Then downhill Through fields of sheep Views over to the distant hills And then back to Sidmouth as we join the South West Coast Path Which we follow With a diversion up to High Peak - a Stone Age and a Roman settlement Where we have views along the coast And over Ladram Bay Holiday Park Where it seems we are welcome More rock formations As we now look west along the coast And then pause in the holiday village Spotting a heron flying overhead As we start to climb uphill Before descending to the river at Clamour Bridge where beaver have been seen We follow the river upstream The pebbles on the bottom making strange patterns On to Otterton A fish pass on the river Continuing on the river bank Eventually crossing On this bridge Following a broad track Views across the valley As we climb the hill Passing some old tree stumps with a variety of carvings Not sure what that one is The view behind us As we descend into Sidmouth Thatcher working away A famous local Plenty of seats on the hill Now reaching the bottom and nearing the town Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
