Uley walk - Wednesday 10 February 2016 Previous Next We gather outside St. Giles' Church in Uley for Karen and Tony's hilly walk This old tree continues to survive - a recognisable landmark It's muddy Another recognisable landmark Lots of water birds on the lake A view across to Stinchcombe Hill And back down to Uley Dursley below us A scrap yard in the forest I'm left-handed. Perhaps this is what I need I think they have misunderstood that you need DRY leaves to make a fire to boil a kettle Turkeys interested in us. Safe for another 10 months. Interesting architecture We head towards Cam Peak Smallpox Hill to the right I'm lost for words. Cam Peak getting nearer From Cam Long Down we can see May Hill And the Malverns And the River Severn A much-needed lunch stop (photo taken by Brian who finished lunch early when a labrador licked his sandwich!) A steep climb up to Uley Bury After a circuit of Uley Bury it's a steep descent Looking down on our destination All in a row In the sunshine this robin sings in Uley Churchyard And the celandines are out.
