The Ship Inn CP - all eyes on Ann
She leads us out onto the Canal towpath
Which we follow
Water encroaching onto our path
Plenty of flooding
And we have to retrace our step
Following the road into Saul - past these figures of sailors drowned when a Severn trow sank
A fine figure of a cock
Our path takes us round a field
Past a small lake
Through a gate onto the banks of the Severn
Spray being whipped up by the wind
We find shelter for coffee
Before continuing on our way, crossing a drainage ditch
As we walk beside a very choppy river
Looking back into the sun
Fretherne Church across the field
We leave the river and head inland
Interesting sign but don't recognise him
A tumbledown cottage
Care needed here
Plenty of mistletoe
Back to the banks of the Severn
Two swans resting in the sun
Still following the river bank
Back to the Ship Inn
