Westonbirt leisurely walk - Monday 6 November 2017 Previous Next A bright morning for a lovely walk We take some little time crossing lots of awkward stiles today But the Autumn scenery is great We pass many polo ponies Some lying down Some up and about More over there Our first glimpse of the famous Autumn colours Yet more ponies on the skyline One of the main drives is visible from the fields Ann our leader We head down a slight slope Towards the arboretum Some looking at the trees And Kathy and Heather having a good old catch-up Through a shady glade Autumn colours Everywhere you look is attractive Looks a good picture here Click! Here and there are poems Next to certain trees Name anyone? Wow! I match the foliage, well almost! We continue To our coffee stop Under the pines Now crossing fields Crops growing strongly A fallow field in the distance Crossing the road into Wiltshire Another "interesting" historic stile And a historic sighpost Through a farmyard Told you we were in Wiltshire, here's the proof Back in Gloucestershire Westonbirt car park is very full This tree has seen some changes Poppies in November! Another tricky stile Brings us back into Gloucestershire And Westonbirt village Westonbirt School, private property, no public access(!) - except for the public right of way! The remains of a huge tree Gateway off the main road Lovely colouring We head back to the cars, having thoroughly enjoyed our morning Photos, captions, processing and uploading by Mike
