Westonbirt walk - Saturday 18 June 2016 Previous Next The last thing you want to see at the parking at the start of a walk! But Olivia finds us a verge without No Parking signs and we're in business. This is the cause of the problem And these are the festival-goers. The ones our side of the fence seem very interested as well. Spotted orchid Fields of wheat We avoid being sprayed But it makes a nice geometric pattern Cranesbills by the roadside We pause in the cemetery in Leighterton, where the Australian pilots are buried We aren't invited to the birthday party, nor to use the bouncy castle in the back garden. We pass the church And the pub And leave Leighterton between the houses Entering a field of wheat With a good path that stretches forever And continues into the barley. Poppies in this field Into the Arboretum - what is this, strapped to the tree? And we can't identify this clump of flowers either. Under the Westonbirt Walkway Made with giant pencils David is befriended by this dog The end of the Walkway Past lovely gardens in Westonbirt village And the school.
