Witcombe evening walk - Thursday 16 June 2016 Previous Next We're not here for the fete or the pet show But Enid only has 3 of us on her walk. Unusual markings on this horse - we discuss what breed it is, to no conclusion. A lovely reflection in Witcombe Reservoir Very peaceful With ducks swimming about These spiders have been very active - what sort makes this kind of web? It is very, very muddy after all the rain We climb up to the Roman villa Then enter very dark woods From the Cotswold Way we look down on the reservoir The mist trapped in the woods near Birdlip We descend The mud gets worse. Mixture of red brick and stone. Is he outside because there's no mobile signal indoors, or because he doesn't want anyone to hear his conversation? Lots of water gushing down into the village The post box is very prominent among the different shades of green. Great Witcombe church A crested grebe on the reservoir We head back through the wet oil seed rape, hoping it will wash some of the mud off our trousers (it doesn't!). A rural work of art?
