Woodchester walk - Wednesday 25 May 2016 Previous Next Outside the Bottle Green Company, Brian is ready to lead us uphill Pausing to mend a dangerous railing Into Woodchester With some quaint old houses Uphill again and round Dingle Wood Over a stile To the edge of Selsley Common Onto the Cotswold Way A pause while Brian decides which Cotswold Way path to folllow Then we carry on with views across the valley Through beech woods Following a well-made path An avenue of trees Coming out into the open with views of the Severn And the Milk Marketing Board - as we used to know it A good point to pause for coffee Looking along the side of the hill Then continuing up through the woods Passing wild garlic Reaching the top we enter Woodchester Park That must be what we are looking for Is it this way? At least we find a spot for a picnic In front of the Mansion With them for company Who are you eyeballing? Still at the back Passing the lakes As we continue downhill through the park Retirement homes waiting for us Woodchester RC Church The cottage idyll With a vineyard just down the road Back to the start - another pretty garden.
