Wotton-under-Edge leisurely walk - Monday 19 June 2017 Previous Next A sunny hot day We meet at the Royal Oak And Chris leads us off through the town Up past some almshouses And the former Tabernacle, now an auction house Wonder whether to bid for this? A sign to their carpark, which we sometimes use, but not on sale days We head uphill in the cool To Conygre Wood Eventually up the lane And emerging onto Coombe Hill We contour around Over the stile To have a good shady break in Coombe And a chance to have a chat Amongst our friendly members and some visitors from Devon We are ready To descend towards Holywell Passing some roses Some more welcome shade In the valley We are now on the Cotswold Way Following the Holywell brook An interesting area Behind us an inviting looking hill, but there are no public paths Back into Wotton near Potters Pond Sounds painful It IS steep Up to the parish church A peaceful spot Passing some more almshouses And under attractive hanging baskets We arrive back for lunch Photos, captions, processing and uploading by Mike
