Wysis Way 1 - Saturday 15 April 2017 Previous Next Kemble station and our journey along the Wysis Way begins Heading across fields - plenty of new lambs Stepping out Towards the beginning of the River Thames A train passes by on the nearby railway line And we pause at the source of the Thames A brand new gate Installed by the Cotswold Wardens following pressure by Ann and Bernard But the farmer still uses the canal as a rubbish dump On past Skew Bridge And the round house To Kings Reach And the Tunnel House Portal Looking back up Kings Reach Then a pause for coffee Now woodland paths With bluebells Before a field brings us to the A419 Carrying on we reach the Sapperton Road But keep to the side of the field - it's safer Eventually we have to take to the road - but Ray, being expendable, is pushed to the front and given a yellow jacket The garden of the Bell - looks like one of the Cirencester Hares Into Sapperton Church graveyard With its ancient yew trees We leave Sapperton Heading downhill And reaching the canal at the Daneway Portal Strange fungus growing by the wayside Passing the refurbished Daneway We cross the Canal Marsh Marigolds Continuing along the towpath The river on the other side Under Whitehall Bridge Out onto the road at Bakers Mill Then up through the woods Nearing Oakridge A grassy track takes us To Bournes Green More wayside flowers Following a track across fields The spire of Bisley Church getting closer Up the steps to the Church and back to the cars Wysis Way 2 > Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
