Wysis Way 2 - Saturday 6 May 2017 Previous Next A cold morning on Windy Ridge. Mike gathers the group together for the second stage of the Wysis Way As we leave Bisley A short stretch of road leading through Stancombe Through a cottage garden Following a narrow path As we head to the bottom of the valley Uphill again Past the cottages used in Cider with Rosie Watched by the inmates of a racing yard And up the other side Where we pause for coffee Continuing downhill Approaching Damsells Farm And Mike stops to tell the story of the kissing gate and seat Standing on the side of the main road And up Painswick Beacon And down the Severn We stop in the shelter of an old quarry for lunch Heading for Cud Hill Then on down into the valley And on to the golf course A rest before we get ready for the final push And down over Gloucester Gathering round the Beacon, Topograph and Trig Point Yes we are on the right track Better be careful Plenty of wild garlic And down into the valley A brief stretch on the Laurie Lee Way And pause while Jill explains the importance of our current path Don't think that tractor will be going far And on the road to Trillgate Down into a steep sided valley Now at Bulls Cross Overlooking Painswick More wild garlic Where we follow the new permissive path Now climbing up to Paradise Then through the woods Where we have views over to May Hill Starting our descent Before continuing down the Beacon And the Blow Family monument Crossing the motorway Where Keith talks to some cows in the next field A look down over the new motorway service area Reaching the top of Robinswood Hill Before heading down into the valley to the car park <Wysis Way 1 Wysis Way 3> Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
