From Robinswood Hill CP we can see Gloucester Cathedral and the Malverns
As we wait in the shade to start the next section of the Wysis Way
We head off into Gloucester on the Stroud Road
Interesting observation on the behavioural patterns of mice
Heading towards the docks
With its Mariners Chapel and warehouses - no, she is not with us

It's the Year of the Pig in Gloucester

We get to the bridge over the lock just in time to see it open
Over the river
On to Alney Island
* We travel through luxuriant growth and discover we are inside a dry lock
* We follow the east branch of the Severn to Lower Parting, perhaps should be called Lower Re-joining!
* Where we stop for coffee in the shade
Then follow the west branch
To Telford's Bridge
From where we can see the new road bridge
And the old rail bridge
Before following the path under the road bridge
And along to Over Farm
And an ice cream stop
Our path then takes us
Towards Lassington Hill
With views from the top
Including the old church tower at Lassington
Where we stop for lunch
Continuing through Lassington Farm Lenneke finds an interesting bit of farm machinery
And we spot an unusual decoration on the front of a car
We continue over fields
And stiles
Crossing the Newent road by a familiar monument
Looking down on the old Tibberton Station
Passing through Tibberton we stop to look at the pond
* To reach the church, quite an imposing building from the outside
* A few of us look inside
* A simple, pleasing layout
We take a break in the churchyard
Some finding more comfortable seats than others
Our onward route takes us past a field of maize
Then into fields of barley
Where the crops grow higher and higher - or do they?
Our next hazard is cattle but we make quickly for a stile
Only to be greeted by another herd on the other side
Now faced by more fields
Then barley again - this time we opt for the headland
Now coming into Taynton
Past a rain machine for a crop of potatoes
A footbridge brings us into the next field
Nearing the end
A warm welcome
And some more farm machinery for Lenneke
Prize winning machinery at that
An imposing farmhouse
And thankfully our waiting cars
