Past an old mine shaft
On through the woods
Then the steepest climb of the day
Through Lady Park Wood
To reach Near Harkening Rock
A good spot for lunch

Then it's downhill to the Suck Stone
An even bigger lump of stone
Continuing downhill we come to a forest track
And stop to look back at the stone

Turning round we have views over to the Brecons
Before continuing along the track
Past a stone and an oak tree commemorating the life of a deputy surveyor in the Forest
Our path follows a route through dense forest
But eventually comes out on a grassy bank
With views over the surrounding countryside
Leading up to the Kymin and afternoon tea
We now have views to the Brecons and down to Monmouth
Then it's downhill past a pile of sheep
Followed by pigs
Continuing downhill on a rough track
